Established in 1919, St. Mary’s is located in the beautiful harbour town of Hastings, on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria and is a vibrant and welcoming community. We value and respect each person as an individual and our teachers work tirelessly to ensure that the needs of each child in our care receives a personalised education that prepares them for their future.
Hastings Community was out in swing over the weekend for the Annual Western Port Festival. The St. Mary’s Community participates in the Parade each year, and this year celebrated ‘Wonderful Western Port’ with our students very enthusiastically dressing up in costumes such as Fisherman, Beach wear, Little Nippers, and even a few Mermaids!
Miss ‘G’s Grade 5/6 Class produced a wonderful video of the significance of the 40 Days of Lent. Such a beautiful reminder of the importance of Lenten. *Thanks to Foothills Christian Church for giving us the idea.
This week Grade 3 and 4 set off to Forest Edge camp, in Neerim. It was a beautiful setting, with lots of wide open spaces and streams to explore, discover, have fun or just chill out! St. Mary’s Book Week celebrations kicked off on Tuesday with the annual LSEY (Linking School and Early Years) Book Day Street Celebrations. The Street Walk by our Junior Students was filled with Super Heroes, Cinderellas, Goblins, Witches, a Duck, and even a White Rabbit! Grade 5/6 students went off to camp with a little apprehension, and not nearly enough beanies and warm socks! They came back seasoned warriors, with a tough ‘can-do’ attitude! Challenge?… Accepted! Students, parents and teachers participate in the annual Western Port Festival Parade in Hastings every year. This year the theme celebrated the work of superheroes in our community. It was a great opportunity to thank the people in professions like the defence forces, emergency services, teachers and even mums and dads.
